So in 2017, the average years people stay at their jobs in North America decreased again.
It’s pretty clear that we no longer live in a society where you go to school only to spend your entire career with the same company and retire on your pension funds at age 50.
This year, you might have quit your job to start your own gig, jumped on other opportunities, decided you wanted a job to fit a desired lifestyle or even started your lifestyle business!
And that’s actually pretty damn good!
None of us will be happy in our careers every day of every year.
If that’s what you’re looking for, good luck.
That said, you SHOULD find satisfaction in the work you do on a regular basis.
Because as nice as it is to talk about a healthy work/life balance, it’s also important to remember just how much of your life is actually spent at work.
And that’s A LOT of time for the common person.
Shouldn’t you find happiness during that time?
Now, I’m not saying you should quit your job.
But don’t put all your eggs in one basket, try to diversify your income and get multiple sources of cashflow!
But listen, if your current state is affecting your health, you’re earnings are stagnant for a while, you’re not learning enough, you’re feeling depressed, or you’re constantly dreaming about a side hustle…that’s a pretty good sign that it’s time to make a change.
The past couple years, I turned my life around by carefully examining my life and I took the necessary steps to make it happen.
It’s a step by step process, change won’t happen overnight.
But you can change your attitude and mindset overnight! And you can eliminate toxic people in your life immediately!
But make sure that it’s the right choice. Don’t act too fast and be honest with yourself about the motivation behind the change.
Whatever you do, be in an environment that empowers and challenges you and surround yourself with people that actually support you!
